LED lights and LED lighting have now become the global standard for Eco efficient low energy and low maintenance illumination.

LEDs are very low maintenance lasting between 50 to 100 times longer than the conventional alternative luminaries, they are typically good for tens of thousands of hours. The rated life span of an LED can be up to 100,000 hours, (over 11 years of continuous operation).
LEDs are cool in operation functioning at close to room temperature so less energy is converted to heat, which reduces energy use for the same light output, as a bonus in larger installations this will reduce the need for heat extraction systems or air-conditioning to counteract the excess heat generated by incandescent lighting systems.
LEDs are more durable than other lighting sources being resistant to heat, cold, shock and vibration and they do not flicker like fluorescent tubes.
